You will need to get an SIA Licence to work within the security industry; this will be achieved through attending the relevant training.

The training you need will depend on the security industry role you wish to work in.

License Renewal and Training

• You do not need to take refresher training to renew your licence if you have a door supervisor qualification that was issued after June 2010 and includes the physical intervention skills and safety awareness training.
• If you have an older qualification that does not include physical intervention then you must achieve the ‘Level 2 Upskilling a Door Supervisor Working within the Private Security Industry’ award before you can renew your door supervisor licence.
