SMSTS COURSE
Run over the weekend, this course is for candidates that have or want the responsibilities for managing staff on construction sites.
This course covers relevant legislation for health and safety in a construction environment. It highlights the need for safety procedures and appropriate control and communication to maintain these health and safety standards.
By the end of this course, learners should be able to implement Health, Safety, and Welfare legislation affecting everyday work.
You must be 16+ and bring along a valid ID (Passport, Driving license, or ID card).
You must also have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

Candidates shall be continuously assessed during the course via the trainer through individual and group work.
At the end of the course, candidates shall take a final examination consisting of 25 questions, covering all aspects of the course – 18 multiple choice questions (each worth one mark) and 7 short written answers (each worth two marks). The exam pass mark is 81% (26 out of 32).
CertificationSuccessful candidates shall be awarded a Five (5)-year CITB SMSTS certificate.
Black Managers’ CSCS CardYou shall need to complete a Level 6 Construction Site Management NVQ and MAP CSCS test in order to gain a Managers’ CSCS card. EM Construction Training does deliver Level 6 & 7 Construction Site Managers NVQs and MAP CSCS tests. All CITB SSP Trainers at EM Construction Training hold numerous Health and Safety qualifications and are of course approved by CITB.
The process for the grant is straightforward. The candidate must provide the Company Name, Registered address, and CITB Levy number. These details will be collected on the first day of the course.
Once received, CITB will then process the claim as per their procedure. EM Construction Training is not responsible for the actual claim, and as such, once the details have been provided, the company must contact CITB for any updates or queries.
