NPORS COURSES
NPORS is the acronym for National Plant Operators Registration Scheme. Established in 1992 it is one of the leading Awarding Bodies for work-based training in the UK. With NPORS, candidates can attend training on site using the same plant they shall be using in their workplace.
Is NPORS a recognised card?
NPORS is a credible and recognised card scheme. NPORS is widely recognised as an alternative plant accreditation scheme on many construction sites; the addition of the CSCS logo to NPORS cards has expanded its reach with the great majority of tier 1 contracts/contractors recognising the NPORS card.
Being recognised by Build UK means that the NPORS card scheme is considered an equivalent alternative to CPCS.
Similar to CPCS, you will undertake a Theory and Practical NPORS tests for your plant of choice.
Once you have successfully passed both the Theory & Practical NPORS tests, you shall receive a “Trained Operator” card similar to the red CPCS card. This will be valid for 2 years and can be upgraded via the NVQ route, to the blue NPORS “Competent Operator” card that shall be valid for a further 5 years. As with CPCS, NPORS will upgrade your card upon the completion of a Level 2 NVQ in Plant Operations; this consists of an on-site assessment to confirm your plant operation competence.
What are the benefits of choosing NPORS?
There are several benefits to choosing NPORS for your awarding body!
That training & testing can be delivered at your site, allows for greater flexibility. This can be beneficial for you or your employees as they shall be trained in the very space that they operate plant in on a day-to-day basis! It shall therefore, be easier to fully apply their newly-acquired knowledge.
