ID Requirements

I.D REQUIREMENTS

Please ensure that you have the correct ID before you attend a test/course

All learners attending a course must bring with them the following forms of identification:

SIA SECURITY COURSES

Two identity documents from the Group A list or

One identity document from the Group A list and Two documents from the Group B list.

CSCS Tests/Courses

A CITB candidate must provide one form of Primary ID containing a photograph and signature.

If they do not have the required form of Primary ID they may present two forms of Secondary ID. This must be one ID from List A and one ID from List B (two from List A or two from List B is not acceptable).

Candidates who are not able to provide the correct ID on arrival at the test centre will be turned away and will lose their test fee.

PRIMARY ID

Present one of the following:

  • Passport – A valid passport of any nationality with a photograph of the candidate and their signature – must be no more than 6 months out of date.
  • Photo Card Driving Licence – A valid UK only driving licence with a photograph of the candidate and their signature – must be no more than 6 months out of date.

SECONDARY ID

one from List A and one from List B required

Both should be current and valid forms of ID.

List A

Present one of the following:

  • Non UK Driving Licence – Showing a photograph and printed full name.
  • EU Country ID Card – Showing a photograph and printed full name – must be no more than 6 months out of date.
  • CSCS Scheme Card or partner card showing the CSCS logo (Hologram)- Showing a photograph and printed initial and surname – must be no more than six months out of date. Acceptable CITB scheme cards include CSCS, CPCS, CISRS and CCDO.
  • Citizen Card – Showing a photograph and printed full name – must be no more than 6 months out of date.
  • British Armed Forces Card – Showing a photograph and for employee of Armed Forces only (not dependant or spouse) – must be no more than 6 months out of date.
  • New Veterans ID Card
  • Biometric Residence Permit (UK)
  • Proof of Age Card – Cards issued nationally in the UK by the Portman Group. Showing a photograph of the candidate and their signature.
  • Young Scots Card – Showing a photograph, printed full name and DOB – must be no more than 6 months out of date.

List B

Present one of the following:

  • Credit Card – Showing the candidate’s name (initial and surname is acceptable) and signature and bank logo.
  • Debit Card – Showing the candidate’s name (initial and surname is acceptable) and signature and bank logo.
  • Bank Statement – Within the last 6 months and including printed initial and surname and home address. This must match the address given at the time of booking.

OTHER ID

  • Waiver Form – With a countersigned photograph of the candidate and their signature -follow the guidelines on the waiver form about additional ID requirements and instructions.

Under 16

  • Confirmation of Identification Form – With a countersigned photograph of the candidate from the school or college that they attend. Only to be used alongside the parental consent from, if the candidate is under the age of 16 and does not have required photographic identification.

ALL OTHER COURSES

One identity document from the Group A list and One document from the Group B list.

LIST OF IDENTITY DOCUMENTS

GROUP A DOCUMENTS

  • A1 Signed valid passport of any nationality.
  • A2 Signed UK photo driving licence (both parts required).
  • A3 UK birth certificate.
  • A4 UK biometric residence permit.

GROUP B DOCUMENTS

  • B1 Valid EU photo ID card.
  • B2 Valid UK firearms licence with photo.
  • B3 Signed UK paper driving licence.
  • B4 Marriage certificate or civil partnership certificate, with translation if not in English.
  • B5 UK birth certificate issued more than 12 months after date of birth.
  • B6 Non-UK birth certificate, with translation if not in English.
  • B7 P45 statement of income for tax purposes on leaving a job issued in the last 12 months.
  • B8 P60 annual statement of income for tax purposes issued in the last 12 months.
  • B9 Bank or building society statement issued to the current address, less than three months old.
  • B10 Mortgage statement issued in the last 12 months.
  • B11 Utility bill (gas, electric, telephone, water, satellite, cable) issued to your current address within the last three months.
  • B12 Pension, endowment or ISA statement issued in the last 12 months.
  • B13 British work permit or visa issued in the last 12 months.
  • B14 Letter from H.M Revenue and Customs, Dept of Work and Pensions, employment service or local authority issued within the last three months.
  • B15 Credit card statement sent to current address in the last three months.
  • B16 Council Tax statement issued in the last 12 months.
  • B17 Child benefit book issued in the last 12 months.
  • B18 UK adoption certificate.

Please bring originals for inspection.

Learners attending any of our SIA Security courses must bring with them 2 passport sized photographs with their forms of identification. Learners booked for any other of our courses must bring 1 passport sized photograph with their forms of identification.

It is essential that all learners bring the correct ID with them to their course, failure to do so will result in exclusion from the course without a refund.
