CPCS Courses

CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) is the most widely recognised construction plant card schemes in the construction industry. Generally accepted throughout sites nationwide, the CPCS card allows you to get a foot in the doorway and begin your route to becoming a competent operator.

For all CPCS testing events, candidates will need to pass a verbal theory test and a practical assessment.

You must have the passed the relevant Health and Safety Test (CSCS ‘touchscreen test’) within the last 2 years before taking any CPCS test/course.

This Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) training course is aimed at those that operate a construction Hoist and is only applicable for candidates who have passed the CSCS Health, Safety and Environment touchscreen test for Operatives within the past two years(CSCS Test); we can provide the CSCS test on demand!

 Obtaining a CPCS card is a multi-stage process; there are no guaranteed passes. Anybody failing an element will need to re-sit that element at an additional cost.

This course is for anyone that is responsible for the movement and marshalling of plant and vehicles in and around a construction site.

The Slinger Signaller job involves working with the lifting teams to help provide safe direction to crane drivers. It is a safety-critical role that requires a high degree of skill, diligence, and concentration.

 Their main responsibility is to ensure the safety of the operators, and any other workers or site visitors that could be at risk.

We offer a range of NVQs in Plant Operations. Each NVQ is aimed at learners that work with different types of Plant in the construction industry.

This CPCS course A61 course provides comprehensive training & testing to help you become a CPCS qualified appointed person.


You must have completed and passed a touch screen CSCS test within the last 2 years. A valid touch screen test result taken within the last 2 years is a mandatory pre-requisite for CPCS, and without this, you are not ready for the next stages. Traffic Marshall Course / Banksman Training – EM Training’s CPCS A73 Plant and Vehicle Marshaller training course is designed to provide novice and intermediate operators with sufficient vehicle marshaller training which will enable them to competently and safely carry out the role as a plant and vehicle marshaller and pass the CPCS theory/practical assessments.


This 4-day course is for people with limited or no experience of slinging and signalling; it is for people that want to gain entry into the lifting industry. This course is for anyone that requires training in slinging & signalling.


The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Plant Operations has been developed for delivery in a working environment; this means you need to be employed to study this qualification.


This course is suitable for supervisors and managers with responsibility for lifting operations. This course will give you an understanding of the appointed person’s responsibilities and how to fulfill them. It will also provides you with the ability to interpret and apply sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the BS 7121 Safe Use of Cranes guidelines.

CITB HS&E Test (‘CSCS touchscreen Test’)/CPCS Renewal Test(RT)

This CPCS training course provides thorough training to those supervising lifting operations and covers legislation controlling crane operations, including the LOLER and PUWER Regulations, the HASAWA and the British Standard 7121 Safe Use of Cranes.
