This Telescopic Handler 360 Slew CPCS training course is aimed at people who require a formal qualification for operating a 360 degree slew telescopic handler onsite. This category supersedes Telescopic Handler – All Sizes including 360º Slew (A17D) which is now retired from the scheme. 

Novices (people with little or no experience) will need to attend a 5-day course whilst Experienced workers can attend a 3 day course.

• •  Roles and responsibilities of the operator
• •  Pre-use and post-use checks, including shut down and securing procedures
• •  Lifting and placing suspended and loads of differing types
• •  Configuration, setting the machine for duties and travel
• •  How to how to carry out activities such as slope work, high lift and stacking and destacking
• •  Attaching and removing attachments including hoist ropes
• •  Explain the basic principles of slinging loads using full slewing capabilities
• •  Confirm with Manufacturer’s requirements as per the operator’s handbook, other types of information source and the relevant regulations and legislation.

Learners must have passed the Operatives Health, Safety and Environment (CSCS)Test within the last 2 years, prior to course start date.

This course will give delegates a CPCS Red Trained Operator card (on successful completion of CPCS Technical Tests).

Trained Operator Card (RED)

The Trained Operator Card confirms a level of core skills, knowledge and understanding that can be applied in the workplace until measured as competent against national standards.

Progression to Blue ‘Competent operator’ CPCS card
 
Once you’ve obtained your Red CPCS Trained Operator Card, it will last for 2 years. During these 2 years, you must work towards and achieve your NVQ in Plant Operations to upgrade to a Blue CPCS Competence Card that is valid for 5 years.

The Blue Competent Operator CPCS card is achieved through completing a Plant operations NVQ at level 2; EM Training does offer the NVQ required.

You do not need to take any further exams or come to a training center; we will come to your site or remotely assess you for your NVQ.

The plant operations NVQ required for this category is made up of only 3 units; these can be completed through observations, video recordings, written tasks etc.
