Progression to Blue ‘Competent Operator’ CPCS Card

Once you’ve obtained your Red CPCS Trained Operator Card, it will last for 2 years. During these 2 years, you must work towards and achieve your NVQ in Plant Operations to upgrade to a Blue CPCS Competence Card that is valid for 5 years.

The Blue Competent Operator CPCS card is achieved through completing a Plant Operations NVQ at level 2; EM Construction Training does offer the NVQ required.

You do not need to take any further exams or come to a training center; we will come to your site or remotely assess you for your NVQ.

The plant operations NVQ required for this category is made up of only 3 units; these can be completed through observations, video recordings, written tasks, etc.
